“[Swaffham Primary Academy] brings learning to life and broadens pupils’ horizons.”

“…pupils understand the SPA Way and the school’s values of being ready, respectful and safe.”

Swaffham Church of England Primary Academy is part of the Diocese of Norwich Educational and Academies Trust (DNEAT).   We are a friendly one form entry school situated in the growing market town of Swaffham and have recently converted from a Junior School to a Primary with classes from Reception through to Year 6.  Our values are rooted in enabling every child to flourish through our fantastic curriculum and supporting our wonderful team of staff through our focus on staff well- being and mental health as well as our CPD offer which includes a suite of professional development provided by our Trust:  DNEAT.

We are a forward- thinking school and with the support of the Local Authority and our Trust, we have invested in our SEND provision for the long term with the launch of bespoke provision for SEMH and ASD on our site.  These provisions are pioneering within Norfolk and we are very excited and proud to have taken this step to support our high needs pupils who need this specialist approach outside of a mainstream classroom.  We are a Thrive School with two Thrive practitioners and a newly launched Forest Schools provision.

We will continue to refine and develop our curriculum and are looking for someone who shares our values to lead teaching initially in Year 5 this academic year.

We welcome applications from both newly qualified and experienced teachers across the primary range.

We are looking for a highly motivated, hard- working and enthusiastic teacher who:

  • is inspirational, innovative and a creative practitioner
  • is enthusiastic and willing to work with us to improve our academy including leading a subject area within our curriculum
  • enjoys working collaboratively and being part of an outstanding team
  • is flexible and willing to contribute to all aspects of academy life
  • has a good sense of humour

We can offer:

  • a friendly, welcoming, enthusiastic and committed staff team
  • fantastic children who are keen to learn
  • embedded systems for supporting SEND learners recognised by Ofsted June 2023 to be effective including a large team of teaching support staff, 2 Thrive Practitioners and staff with specialist training in communication and language support
  • Opportunities for professional development through our emerging bespoke SEND provision
  • We are a PIXL school
  • commitment to CPD and professional development with opportunities across the Trust
  • the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment both within the academy and also as part of the DNEAT family of schools which includes 36 other primary schools
  • A Student and Family Support Team of staff who are non- teaching and able to support families and children- reducing barriers to learning and on hand to support building effective relationships with families
  • a happy and positive working environment- PPA at home
