Trust: DNEAT

Academy Name: St Peter & St Paul Carbrooke Church of England Primary Academy

Vacancy Title: Teacher – Early Years Lead

Pay Scale: MPS/UPS

Hours per week: Full Time

Start Date: September 2024

We are offering a unique opportunity to find our new Early Years lead teacher.

We are a school ‘family’ where the children feel safe, valued and happy. We firmly believe that this attitude has to start as soon as a child begins school – whether it be aged 2+ in the Nursery, or in Reception.

We are looking for the best person to be responsible for our Early Years classes, and to enhance and broaden the opportunities for the youngest children in our setting. The current provision is rated as Outstanding in our self-evaluation, and the approach we use works well for the children and young people in our care.

St Peter & St Paul Carbrooke are looking for a great teacher to teach in Reception. We are highly focused on positive mindset and are seeking staff who will engage with children, parents, staff and the community. We need you to work with the nursery lead, and oversee the EYFS provision, which spans from ages 2-5, across 3 different rooms and large outdoor areas.

We are hoping you are the person who can work with us on our academy improvement, on our vision and to support our goal of providing outstanding EYFS provision. The school work closely with others to provide the children the best opportunities, care and support, so they feel safe, cared for and are happy. EYFS is fully integrated into day to day school events and activities, and staff are adaptable to work across multiple year groups, but having specific Early Years qualifications.

We see great opportunities ahead of us and have already built firm foundations, which we are now seeking to enhance. With our nurturing approach it gives the children and their families the best opportunities – that they need and deserve. We are building an aspirational culture to which all stakeholders are proud to belong.

Are you a forward thinker?

Are you practical and aspirational for children?

Do you work well as part of a time, but also extending your own thinking through research and knowledge of best practise?

Do you see Early Years as the foundation into a life-long learning journey?

Please consider what you can bring to our school that will boost the children’s knowledge, experiences and enable them to feel valued and confident across all areas of the Early Years Curriculum, as well as the skills to lead positively on a curriculum area, bringing about enhanced outcomes for all children. The ideal candidate will also be working with senior leaders, governors and the Multi Academy Trust.

Visits to the school are highly recommended and can be arranged within or around the school day, or evening/weekend. We are looking for the right person who is the one to continue promoting our values and vision – someone calm, caring, compassionate who can take responsibility for overseeing all the early years learners, and teaching in Reception. Telephone calls with the SLT, and the current post holder are also welcomed.

Candidates can request to be seen and observed in their own setting where possible, even prior to the closing date.
